EEG-1166 - 192 channel system.


General.

The BRAINBOX® ETHERNET SYSTEM is intended for all sorts of EEG investigations and sleep recordings. Offering both very small size for ultra portability and larger types for operator convenience.

A BRAINBOX® EEG-1166 type amplifier is small and light enough to be carried around by the patient without much inconvenience, making it ideal for long-term EEG recordings of ambulant patients. The amplifier is connected by a thin and flexible cable to further enhance the mobility of the patient during long-term investigations. All parts are designed for maximum mobility. The EEG-1166 type amplifier can be daisy chained up to 4 units for 256 channels. The highest channel can be switched to SpO2 and Event.

Electrode connections:
For quick and easy connection of Electrode Caps, all amplifiers are equipped with multipin connectors.

For the connection of electrodes with standard Touchproof Plugs, the EEG-1166 amplifiers can be connected via a clip-on INBOX-1166. The INBOX-1166 is placed over the EEG-1166 amplifier as a clip and connects the multi pin connector to 64 Touch Proof inputs for EEG, G1/G2 and Ground Reference.

For Touchproof plugs a EEG-1166 amplifier can also use a separate INBOX-1066. This is a somewhat larger box designed for flexibility and is connected to the EEG-1166 type amplifier with a flat cable.

Isolation:
For galvanic safety isolation, the EEG-1166 amplifiers use a separate ISO-101. One ISO-101 isolator box can connect to max. 4 amplifiers EEG-1166.


Interface connection of BRAINBOX® :
All BRAINBOX® devices connect to the BRAINNET connections on the Ethernet-102 (V2) interface. For the EEG-1166 amplifiers via the ISO-101, for the FLASH-201 there is a direct connection.

Network Interface:
The BRAINBOX® ETHERNET SYSTEM communicates with the PC by means of the ETHERNET-102 (V2) INTERFACE that connects to a standard 10/100 network port on a PC. The third party EEG-analysis software is responsible for proper implementation of the used control protocol, acquisition and analysis. Interfacing is described in document: BRAINBOX® Software Protocol V1.0. The PC software controls Calibration, Electrode Check, etc. of the amplifier over the same thin cable as the digitized EEG signals are transmitted. Power for the amplifier(s) is also supplied over this interface cable.

EEG-1166 - 192 channel system specifications.

  • 192 Galvanic isolated (floating) Unipolar EEG inputs. (Extendable to 256 EEG inputs by use of one extra BRAINBOX® EEG-1166 amplifiers in Daisy Chain mode)
  • 8 digital inputs.
  • 8 digital outputs.
  • Digital data output to PC, no ADC in the PC is needed.
  • Real input calibration, CAL voltage is applied to electrode input.
  • Impedance check of electrodes on PC screen.
  • Simple interfacing by using Braintronics Proprietary protocol on top of the standard ETHERNET TCP/IP protocol.
  • Possibility tot use 1 EEG channel for SpO2 and EVENT. (NONIN X-Pod and EVENT button have to be added).
